Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This policy applies to the Breath Bell Android app on Google Play. Breath Bell is a mindfulness reminder app — it rings a bell or vibrates on a schedule to remind you to breathe. It works almost entirely on your device.
Information we collect
- We do not collect account information, timer names, schedules, reminder messages, meditation history, payment details, or the contents of your vibration patterns.
- All timer settings are stored locally on your device.
- Optional anonymous usage statistics are described below. They are off unless you choose to share them.
In-app purchases
- The optional tip-jar purchases ("appreciation" tiers) are processed entirely by Google Play.
- We do not see or store your payment details.
- Transactions are handled by Google Play Billing.
Data storage
- All settings and timers are stored locally on your device.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its stored data.
Permissions
- Notifications: to show breathing reminders.
- Vibration: for the breath-synchronized vibration patterns.
- Exact alarms & foreground service: so reminders fire reliably on time (used for functionality, not data collection).
- Billing: for the optional appreciation purchases.
Third-party services
- Google Play Billing, for processing in-app purchases.
- Google Firebase Analytics, only if you opt in to anonymous usage statistics.
Optional anonymous usage statistics
On your second app launch, Breath Bell asks whether you want to share anonymous feature-use statistics. Choosing “No thanks” keeps this off. You can also turn it on or off at any time in Settings.
- If enabled, we collect limited events such as creating, enabling, deleting, or pausing a timer; opening Support; and whether notification permission was granted.
- We do not collect timer names, schedules, reminder text, meditation history, notification-fire history, payment details, user IDs, or advertising identifiers.
- Google Firebase Analytics processes these statistics to provide aggregate reports. We use them only to understand which features are useful and improve app reliability and usability.
- Advertising ID collection, advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalisation are disabled.
- Turning the setting off stops future collection and resets Firebase Analytics data stored on your device. Existing aggregate reports cannot identify you personally.
